Mother’s Day is a special day to celebrate the love and care that mothers provide to their children. One of the ways mothers or caretakers express their love is by doing their child’s hair. Growing up, my mom would prep my hair for school. We would have conversations about how I wanted to be a flight attendant for Air Jamaica. Hair sessions were usually doubled as bonding time for My mother and I. Now, that I have three daughters of my own - I can appreciate the many life lessons she passed down to me during our talks.

Before “natural hair products' ' was a phrase in our homes, products like Blue magic were present. We knew we could trust these products to moisturize our hair as needed. For black mothers, using natural hair products is not just a way to care for their hair, but also a way to celebrate their heritage and culture.

Natural hair products are a big part of black culture, and they have been used for centuries. From shea butter to castor oil, these natural ingredients have been used to nourish, moisturize, and strengthen black hair. Black mothers pass down these traditions to their daughters, teaching them how to care for their hair and embrace their natural texture.

On Mother’s Day, let’s remember the steps our Mothers, Grandmother & Aunties took to help us learn about the importance of taking care of your crown . We all remember what hair day would be like - They might use a deep conditioner made with avocado oil or a hair butter infused with coconut oil, or the infamous blue magic. These products not only help to keep hair healthy and strong, but they also promote bonding and self-care. We hope Beth defines beauty products that can become a part of your family as well.
